The concept of Goddess Mahalaxmi was brought here from Gujarat by Hemaram Shrimali and his son Giridhar Shrimali during the reign of Maharana Jagat Singh. They settled here to make their living from agriculture and business. Later, they decided to establish a temple so that people of this area could worship the goddess for prosperity as well as a place to get rid of their sins.
